In terms of wedding experience, I myself am married so I can relate to you and what it’s like going through the entire process. I’ve also been a groomsman for three very close friends, I’ve attended countless weddings of family and friends as a guest and of course I’ve photographed a lot of weddings. With all of that experience though, I think it helps to bring in a different perspective for you and let you hear from an actual bride.

Below are some great words of advice from Jessica whose wedding I photographed on June 4, 2011.

“Most importantly is to take time to acknowledge what is going on around you, time goes by too fast, and these are those sweet moments you want to treasure for a lifetime. everything from the engagement ring, to dress shopping to the wedding day.

Stay calm, stress free and mostly enjoy every minute of it. You will no doubt stress yourself out about the small things throughout the planning process from, what napkin colour to have to the music played through the night.

But remember, what is most important, is you and your future husband officially beginning your life together as one and the whole wedding day is just to celebrate the joining of the two.

Once your day arrives, you need to take every moment in and you will realize that those months/years you’ve spent planning are minuscule in comparison to the feelings that you have on your wedding day; that the only thing that matters in that moment in time is how happy you are that you are officially someone’s Mrs and you will be spending the entirety of your life together.”
