At every engagement session I always encourage couples to relax, not to focus on me and just enjoy each other – and then there’s Jessica and Ben. Within the first few minutes I could already see how much they enjoy being with each other and how easily they could make each other laugh. It was so much fun to see them play together, and just have a good time which made my job super easy.

Thank you both for making the drive and sorry again Ben for the jacket incident. As you’ll see in the photos the play got a little rough and I don’t think Ben’s jacket will ever be quite the same. If you know Ben or Jessica, be sure to ask them and they’ll tell you the story.

f.y.i In the last photo that’s actually not Ben’s last name on his jersey but a play off of it – just for the record icon smile Whitby Engagement Jessica & Ben

One of the best things about an engagement session is how much time I get to spend with my couples. With an typical session going about 2 hours there’s plenty of time to relax, have fun and try new things, like taking your shoes off and getting into the creek – see second last photo. With so much time, there’s never a sense of being hurried or rushed like it can be on the wedding day.

Thanks again to Jessica and Scott and you guys look great together and I’m really looking forward to the wedding next summer. Here are a few of my favourite photos from the session.

MJP Photography New Website

October 12, 2010

Finally, the new website is here. After a long road, endless hours, I’m happy to say it’s up. One thing I’ve realized is that nothing is ever actually finished, it’s always a work in progress but that’s cool. I wanted my new site to be clean, easy to use, highlight and bring focus to my images, and I feel that I’ve accomplished that.

While the website was being updated, I also wanted to refresh and bring life to my logo so I had that redesigned as well. Take a look below and visit the new site at MJP Photography
