Congratulations to Tammy, Cyrus and family who welcomed a baby girl into the family last month.

This little sweetie was so laid back and relaxed it made my job so easy. I think she slept for almost the entire session, but that’s the life!

Here are some photos of our little guy doing his usual thing….making a mess for mommy and daddy! You wouldn’t know it from the photos but he’s always into something, but we can’t blame him. I guess it’s his way of discovering the world and figuring out what he can and cannot do to make us shake our head and laugh.

People often ask me what kinds of photos I take of him, and for the most part l love just capturing him in his own little world. At this stage, he’s just too active to hold down and I would never get any of these expressions if I forced him into pose. For toddlers, I find candid, natural light photos are best.

I wanted to say congratulations to Cheri and Dave who are now the proud parents of a little baby girl. Mom and baby are doing well (dad too) and hopefully will be home soon.

I did Cheri’s maternity session last month and can’t wait to see the baby and do that session as well.

Whenever I get the chance I love shooting with available light. Of course there are sometimes when I have to use flash to get a shot but I just love that soft, natural look that windows light gives.

I had the chance recently to come into the home of Dave and Teri and photograph their brand new baby girl with some window light. Congrats again to mom, dad and big brother!

It has been confirmed here at MJP Photography that Cheri and Dave are indeed expecting. Seriously, I’ve known them for years now, and I still can’t believe they’re about to have a baby and I’m so happy for them.

It’s crazy how time flys by, and we all seem to be settling down and starting a family. I’m really looking forward to seeing the little bundle, so be sure to check back for the newborn photos as well.
